Duck, Duck, Dodge: Ayotte Attempts to Deflect on ICE and Refuses Relief at the Gas Pump
 

In Case You Missed It, on WMUR’s Conversation with the Candidate series, Kelly Ayotte tried to deflect and dodge her way through her interview. 

When Ayotte was asked if she supports masked ICE officers on the streets of New Hampshire, Kelly Ayotte said, “I don’t know.” Despite months of ICE raids in New England and across the country, which have terrorized communities and taken lives, Ayotte still doesn’t know whether she is okay with rogue, masked ICE agents roaming the streets of New Hampshire.

The duck-and-cover strategy Ayotte had hoped would work out fell completely flat when she once again refused to temporarily suspend the state’s gas tax. While Granite Staters face record-high fuel prices thanks to Donald Trump’s war of choice, Ayotte held firm in her refusal to call for a temporary suspension of the state’s gas tax. Instead, she pulled the deflection card. 

“Kelly Ayotte is trying to save face now, but the truth is, she refuses to denounce Trump’s lawless and chaotic agenda,” said NHDP spokesperson Marissa Hebert. “Ayotte has no problem falling in line behind Donald Trump, but when Granite Staters ask her directly about getting them the relief they desperately need, she ducks, dodges, and delivers nothing but excuses.”
