U.S. Forces Immobilize Second Oil Tanker in Gulf of Oman in 48 Hours
A U.S. aircraft deployed precision munitions targeting the engine room of the Settebello, a Palau-flagged tanker, after its crew "repeatedly failed to comply with directions from American forces," U.S. Central Command stated in a post on X.
American forces alleged the vessel was actively attempting to ferry oil out of Iran at the time of the strike.
Since the blockade took effect on April 13, U.S. Central Command disclosed that American forces have now disabled eight non-compliant vessels, redirected 134 ships that chose to comply, and granted passage to 42 vessels engaged in humanitarian aid operations.
