Ukraine, Russia Exchange Long-Range Strikes on Military, Energy Targets
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram that Ukrainian forces have expanded the reach of their strikes, highlighting an attack on an oil-related facility in Armavir in Russia’s Krasnodar region, located roughly 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. He described such operations as part of what he called a “long-range sanctions” strategy, adding that Ukraine aims to “return the war to where it came from,” and credited the Security Service of Ukraine for the operation.
In a separate update, Ukraine’s General Staff reported additional strikes overnight, including damage to the Kurgannefteprodukt oil terminal in Taganrog and impacts on fuel storage infrastructure. It also claimed strikes involving military aviation assets and missile systems in the same region. Local authorities in Taganrog confirmed a drone attack and said emergency zones were being expanded following earlier incidents.
On the Russian side, the Defense Ministry said its forces conducted coordinated strikes using precision weapons and drones against Ukrainian military airfields as well as energy, fuel, and transport facilities supporting Ukrainian forces. According to reports, Moscow stated that all intended targets were successfully hit.
The exchange reflects the continued intensification of long-range operations by both sides, with infrastructure and military assets increasingly targeted deep within each country’s territory.
